One of the most remote schools in the world

In the coming months, we would like to engage in another nomadic region. Perhaps some of you are familiar with the film “Lunana – A Yak in the Classroom”? The film provides insights into the lives of nomadic children in Bhutan. Our new partner school is located very close to the school featured in the film. It can only be reached via a walk of several days. 34 children from grades 1 to 6 are taught at the school, and almost all of them also live there. 

A Bhutanese teacher friend with contact at the school organized a delivery of essential school supplies to Lunana. We participated in the campaign and purchased school supplies worth €2,000 for the school. With funding from EWS Schönau, we were also able to donate solar lamps and Padlets for the school.
